As we age, our skin will gradually sag.
We, as women, try everything possibly to defy the impact gravity has on our skin.
We try top of the line skin care, day and night.
We probably have had several facials, hoping it would reverse the signs of aging
and
We try to shield our face from the harmful effects of the sun.
Try as we may, if we are lucky to reach our older, wiser years – we will not be able to avoid our skin from aging as well.
Now, I don’t know about you, but at this season in my life, I cannot afford cosmetic surgery to try to make my 40 year old skin look like it has regressed 20 years.
However, I do have a few tricks up my sleeve to give myself a quick facelift (without surgery) and instead using makeup to give the illusion of a much younger face.
How To Give Yourself a Facelift – Without Surgery
In this post, I will dish out the best tips on how to give yourself your own facelift without surgery. The best parts are it is affordable and you can achieve this look within minutes!
Here are 5 tips you can do to give yourself a facelift (without surgery)

Don’t Forget to Contour Your Cheekbones
A huge difference to look years younger is to contour your cheekbones.
Start by finding your cheekbones (hint: it’s the bony protrusion located right under your temple) and contour starting from there up to the outer corner of your eye.
Once you’ve added your contour, blend upwards. This will help to lift up your face.
I recommended cream contours. My fave is Seint’s cream contours.
2. Lift Your Eyeliner Upwards
Try using eyeliner starting from middle of your eye (your pupils) and continuing outward. As you move outward also slight move the eyeliner upwards creating a lifted eye effect.
We tend to line our eyes downward.
But this time, line your eyes almost like you are creating “cat eye” or a “winged eye” look but not as dramatic.
3. Brows Play a Big Role
Try softening the arch of your brows. Skip the more dramatic brow arches and opt for a more subtle arch.
This will lift up your eyes and give you a more youthful appearance.
For an added effect, add highlighter right under the highest point of your brows. This will emphasize the brow arch.
A highlighter I love to use is:
4. Blush Placement is Important
When I was younger, I did not think blush placement was such a big deal.
Like, find your cheeks, add blush, and you’re done.
Not anymore!
Skip the old adage of adding blush to the apples of your cheeks. That does you no good if you have maturing skin and will not give you the “facelift without surgery” look. Instead, add blush to the highest point of your cheeks and blend upwards, up to your temples for a lifted look.
Finally add a higlighter right on the tops of your cheekbones for an added emphasis on your “lifted” cheeks.
5. Apply a Light Amount of Makeup Under Your Eyes
I know you want to cover up those dark bags under your eyes (as do I!).
But what our mamas told us about adding a ton of concealer to cover those babies up are not the best thing to do. And let me tell you why:
~ the skin under your eyes are the most fragile and thinnest parts of your face. Using a ton a of product will further drag them down.
~ using a product lighter than your skin tone will not cover dark under eyes. Most of the time you will still be able to see the blue/purple hue underneath.
Here’s what to do instead:
Add a darker shade of foundation directly to your dark undereyes, perhaps with an orange undertone to combat the blues and purples. This will cancel out darkness.
Next, add concealer only to the inner and outer corners of your eyes.
Finally, blend by patting or stippling the products together. DO NOT SWIPE TO BLEND!
